Our Present Status
Cold Storage
To minimize the post-harvest losses and distress selling by farmers, Koel Fresh Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with the Rourkela Municipality Corporation (RMC) has set up a 5 MT cold room at Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Market, Chhend. The members of “Maa Tarini” Self-Help Group, Rourkela have been trained to operate this cold room by Koel Fresh.
Solarization
To promote clean and green energy and reduce conventional means of energy, the Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC) has teamed up with Koel Fresh to install rooftop solar plants on government and private buildings.
‘Solarization Rourkela’ initiative is one of the flagship programmes to promote clean energy and fight severe climate change. Under the initiative, the civic body would reach out to citizens and educate them on the benefits of solar photovoltaic system to facilitate its adoption. The initiative is also intended to boost local economy and create employment opportunities.
Bio-Methanation
A Bio-Methanation cum electricity generation plant using segregated 5TPD municipal waste under Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC) is under construction. It will have the capacity to produce around 400-500 cum raw biogas per day, around 450 KWh power production per day, and around 800kg of bio-manure per day.
